Melissa Monson is the founder of Monson Communications LLC. Her areas of
expertise include: financial presentations, communication skills, and
strategic design and marketing, Well-known in the business community, she
has a passion for helping people communicate their message in a clear,
concise, and persuasive manner. Melissa is highly regarded for her ability
to craft a story and position a company to achieve maximum valuation with an
investor audience. She has participated in hundreds of public and private
financing and strategic consulting assignments across numerous industries
and professional sectors. Her clients have included Smart Modular
Technologies, Foundry Networks, NetScreen Technologies and Cogent Systems
Prior to founding Monson Communications LLC, Melissa was recognized in the
legal community as an expert lecturer and trainer of non-verbal
communication and courtroom delivery skills.
She has been a lecturer for the National Investor Relations Institute, the
University of California at Berkeley, the State Bar of California, the
Alameda County Bar Association, the California Society of CPAs, the National
Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and an adjunct faculty member at John
F. Kennedy University. She has been published in The Chronicle, a
publication of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and her
articles on communication skills have appeared in San Francisco Business
Times, the San Jose Business Journal, The Recorder and North Bay Business
Melissa most recently spoke on "Executive Presentation Skills: Effectively
Reaching Out to Regulators" to the HK Medical Device Regulatory Forum in
Hong Kong. She writes a regular column "Communicating Effectively" which
appears in Regulatory Forum, Newsletter-HK and Asia Regulatory.
Melissa has served as a trustee of the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation
and as a board member of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce San
Francisco/Silicon Valley. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of The
Green Music Center at Sonoma State University, the San Francisco Symphony
Baton Society and as an advisor to Astia's entrepreneurs.
Melissa received her M.A. from Columbia University and her B.S. from Miami
University in Oxford, Ohio.
